Database Concepts and Methodologies

DATABASE COURSE OVERVIEW
This course shows how to use a database application development approach to complete a large-scale real-world project. All of the database concepts, methods, and resources necessary to construct a database application from the ground you implement when you apply them to your own major class team project.
The Extended Entity Relationship Model, the Relational Model, Relational algebra, calculus, and SQL, database normalization, performance, and indexing will all be covered in this course, in addition to the development methodology. Finally, metadata management and archival strategies and tools will be discussed.
In summary, Database is a logically ordered set of data that is typically stored and accessed electronically via a computer system. Where databases are more complex, systematic design and modelling techniques are often used, the database management system (DBMS) is the program that captures and analyses data by interacting with end users, program, and the database itself. The database management system (DBMS) program also includes the essential tools for managing the database. A “information system” is the combination of the database, the database management system, and the related applications.
KEY BENEFITS
Firstly: Understand and apply data independence, database and database management system design, as well as the function and placement of a database management system in the application stack.
Secondly: Create SQL data structure descriptions and queries that satisfy defined criteria by understanding and applying the theoretical basis of relational databases and query languages.
Thirdly: Design and execute a relational database framework, which includes requirement analysis, specification, design, and implementation.
Fourthly: For efficient database operation, evaluate alternative internal schema structures and create indices.
Lastly: Know what database access control is and how to use it.
